Two Well Known Ingredients Can Help You Against Cholesterol, Diabetes and Obesity

Cinnamon is a spice with medical properties proven helpful by many people long time ago.

Today it is available in powder and as such it is most suitable to eat, but it first must be blended into a food or a drink. One of the possibilities to mix it with is low fat yogurt. The finished mixture can have some astonishing effects on your health.

How much cinnamon should you take?

Because cinnamon’s health benefits are unproven for treatment, there is no established dose for intake. Some will recommend 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of powder a day. Studies have used somewhere between 1 gram and 6 grams of cinnamon.

Very high doses can also be toxic.

Cinnamon reduces blood sugar

Some studies have shown that a half teaspoon of cinnamon per day can reduce the levels of blood sugar, especially  type 2 diabetes.

Some of these studies have confirmed the effects of cinnamon on cholesterol and triglycerides and since then cinnamon has become a famous cure for diabetes and cholesterol.

Cinnamon and yogurt is the perfect mix, in this mixture you can also add some fruit or cereal to taste, if your health allows that.

Cinnamon and yogurt for weight loss, this diet lasts 10 days:

Lunch is regulary.

For dinner, drink 200 ml of yogurt and a half teaspoon of cinnamon, but this time without any cereal or fruit.

Lots of Yogurt Options

There are a myriad of ways to get yogurt into your diet. First, choose single servings of plain, low-fat yogurt. Full fat yogurts or the flavored varieties are too high in calories, and fat-free yogurts do not have enough of the essential fat you need to lose weight. Greek strained yogurt is currently the rage and is thicker than traditional yogurt, if you like that type of consistency. If you find plain low-fat yogurt unappealing and you really need to sweeten it, add a teaspoon of sugar-free all-fruit preserves, or a teaspoon of honey. This will add a few calories, but you’ll still benefit overall.

Yogurts with probiotics are good for those who have digestive ailments, but are not necessary for people who do not have them. Probiotics can help regulate your digestive system by helping reduce bloating as well as difficult and painful defecation. You can also try goat’s milk or soy varieties.

Eating yogurt every day can also support your immune system, reducing overall inflammation. It is also know to lower LDL “bad” cholesterol.

Lastly, many adults have problems digesting milk products because their bodies do not produce enough of the enzyme lactase. Yogurt naturally contains lactase, making it a healthy alternative for those who can’t tolerate other milk products.

For all these reasons, we suggest that you make yogurt a part of your new diet every single day!
