How To Use Apple Cider Vinegar For Yeast Infection Cure

Yeast infection (candidiasis), is a common problem for women living in a hot and humid climate. It usually occurs in the intestinal tract, but it can also occur in the vaginal mouth, when it is called vaginitis. The infection manifests itself with redness, irritation, and white or yellow vaginal discharge.  During their lifetime, over 75% of all women experience candidiasis. Fortunately, there are a few natural remedies for this condition, with apple cider vinegar providing the best results?

What is ACV (apple cider vinegar)?

This vinegar is made from fermented apples. There are two steps in the process:

1 – The apples first need to be crushed. Then, yeast is added to ferment their sugar into alcohol.

2 – When the alcohol is made, it is mixed with the acetobacter bacteria and converted to acetic acid and malic acid. Vinegar means “sour wine” in French.

Unfiltered ACV is rich in useful bacteria, enzymes and proteins which are present in the “mother of vinegar”, a substance usually found floating at the bottom of the vinegar in a bottle. The health benefits of ACV are known for a long time, with Hippocrates mentioning it in his books. It is a great ally for fighting yeast infections.

ACV for yeast infections

Apple cider vinegar is a natural antibiotic which eliminates bacteria easily and effectively. It will increase the amount of good bacteria in the intestines and vagina and give the immune system a boost. ACV can also reduce the glucose level and sugar in the blood, so it’s recommended to diabetes patients for fighting fungal infections.

ACV is a mild acid which will preserve the natural pH balance in the vagina and prevent yeast infections. When taken orally, it will boost your immunity thanks to its enzyme and protein content.

Simple methods to cure yeast infections with ACV

Topically or orally, ACV will cure the yeast infection. Here are some methods for this:

Method 1

Add 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water, and drink the beverage 2-3 times daily.

Method 2

For this method, you need pure organic apple cider vinegar. Add a tablespoon of ACV in a glass of water and drink the remedy on an empty stomach twice a day before meals. Consuming this mixture daily will prevent fungi from spreading. You can add ACV to a freshly made juice or herbal teas to prevent infections.

Method 3 (soaking)

For this method, you need 2-3 tablespoons of ACV and a piece of cloth or cotton. Soak the cotton or cloth in the apple cider vinegar and apply it to the infected area. However, be sure to use a 5% or less ACV. Let the cotton or cloth stay for 10-15 minutes then wash and dry the area well. Repeat the procedure daily until the infection is cured.

If the infection is severe, you might feel burning in the area. In that case, dilute the ACV with some water.

Method 4

Tea tree oil mixed with ACV has an even stronger antimicrobial effect. Make a mix of 3-4 cups of ACV and half a cup of tea tree oil and add it to your bath. Bathe in the mix every day to cure and prevent yeast and fungal infections.

Method 5

Make a vaginal douche by mixing a cup of distilled water along with 3 tablespoons of ACV. Douching with this mixture will cure the infection and reduce the itching and vaginal discharge. If you have severe symptoms, use this method twice a day.

Before starting this method, consult with your doctor to adjust the concentration.

Method 6

Regular use of ACV will prevent yeast infections and preserve the normal pH balance. ACV can be used for conserving food such as pickles. It can also be added to salads and used as a salad dressing, sprinkled on potatoes, etc.

Method 7

Apple cider vinegar can be found in the form of pills or tonic. Regular consumption will improve your immune system and prevent various infections.

Method 8

Add two cups of ACV in warm water in a shallow container, then sit in it and soak the vagina in the mixture for at least 10 minutes. Repeat the procedure until the infection is cured. ACV can also be added to your bath (2-3 cups) to cleanse the whole body.

Use this method frequently to prevent infections.

Method 9

Soak your tampon in ACV and insert it in the vagina. Remove it after 10-15 minutes and wash and dry the area well. The results will be felt after just 2-3 treatments!

Important tips

It’s best to use organic ACV for treatment of yeast infections. Undiluted apple cider vinegar can lead to burns because it is acidic in nature. You must remember not to use baking soda for the infections, as it can disrupt the pH levels and help the yeast grow.

During the infection, avoid eating sugar and sweets since they can have a negative effect on the treatment and help the yeast grow. When dealing with a vaginal infection, make sure you wear comfortable panties and consume more yogurt, as it increases the good bacteria in the vagina.

These simple natural methods can cure the vaginal infection and its symptoms in just a short time. They don’t have any side effects.
